　　His vision, from the constantly passing bars,
' t9 H5 a' U0 y# e% c　　has grown so weary that it cannot hold
　　anything else. It seems to him there are
- _* n5 R$ M4 {5 e　　a thousand bars; and behind the bars, no world.
　　隔着不时掠过的铁栏，他的目光
　　已变得如此疲倦，再无法
" S/ }2 w/ M+ s/ ~0 ]7 |　　承受哪怕一眼。似乎面前
1 W0 O* D9 |) G  I, v2 H　　有千条栏杆;而栏杆之后别无他物。
　　As he paces in cramped circles, over and over,
　　the movement of his powerful soft strides
# C7 ~/ f! X1 X  A! q8 I9 H　　is like a ritual dance around a center
/ j# H( F; ]5 }7 i+ ]0 f' l; K# L/ W' [/ k　　in which a mighty will stands paralyzed.
　　他强韧的脚步灵巧地回旋，
' {( u6 ]" s5 |  \) \6 R　　在狭小的空间踱步不止，
- G  I3 E: ]% c4 R/ H　　仿佛某种祭祀之舞围绕着一个中心，
4 N; \9 ^& c+ X$ s　　在中心一个伟大的意志眩晕。
　　Only at times, the curtain of the pupils
　　lifts, quietly—. An image enters in,
  y: D4 D: I& E0 ~/ `; {7 k" j" q- @　　rushes down through the tensed, arrested muscles,
( D1 B+ _7 _" ^3 p7 O　　plunges into the heart and is gone.
　　只有时眼帘无声地撩起——
- {/ c0 E. H$ i6 d! L/ Z　　一幅图像从瞳孔浸入，
　　穿过凝神僵立的躯体
　　投入心灵，又最终化为乌有。
