In English, we use different types of "punctuations" as follows:
7 \. Z* U+ _7 `" v' G0 }" [在英文裡面有不同的標點符號:

(1) Full-stop　(句號) - " . "
' }$ {+ r; X( K; ZWe put "full-stop" at the end of a sentence.
我們會在句子的最尾加上句號。
We may also put "full-stop" after specific words like "Mr.", "Mrs." or "Dr."
我們也可在特定的名稱後加上句號。
! H, ^! M0 C% a; \$ c
(2) Comma　(逗號) - " , "
  z; k4 D7 C" A8 aWe put "comma" in a sentence to separate different parts of it.
% T" [; Q7 x" U7 e8 {( E我們會在句子中間用逗號把不同部份分開。

(3) Question mark　(問號) - " ? "
. s' m, I' U- `: s3 \% ?/ lWe put "question mark" at the end of a question.
, [' Z1 O% z& D* [2 V  G我們會在問題句的最後加上問號。

! ?9 o& G& q4 `$ o(4) Exclamation mark　(感嘆號) - " ! "
' e/ V& `" `5 C% XWe put "exclamation mark" at the end of a sentence to emphasize the meanings.
* Z- F& y, H' D  p/ E6 O( z我們會用感嘆號來加重句子的語氣。

(5) Inverted commas　(引號) - " 　　"  or　'　　'
( N/ ~7 C) K' k1 WWe use "inverted commas" to quote specific words spoken by someone.

2 \" X7 z# Y$ Y+ v- u+ CWe use this punctuation to express that a thing belongs to a certain person or some people.
我們用這個標點符號來表示一個東西是屬於某人或某些人的。

(7) Colon　(冒號) - " : "
& E6 ?' Q/ {9 [& X# A$ |We use "colon" to express some examples.
我們用冒號來帶出句子中的例子。

3 B2 H( S! [( Z0 `( R(8) Semi-colon　(分號) - " ; "
3 D, g/ l3 q4 ~, {: B& _We can use "semi-colon" to separate two short sentences which have similar meanings.
我們用分號來把兩個意思接近的短句分開。

(9) Dash　(破折號) - " - "
# }/ Q: T/ q, |6 ?We use "dash" in a sentence to emphasize an explanation or a part of a sentence.
我們用破折號來強調句子中一個解釋或一個句子的部份。
