[英文] Verb (Simple present tense) 動詞(簡單現在式) [複製鏈接]

In English, verbs have different tenses. We need to use different tenses of verbs to describe actions that happen at different time.
1 z" j* `/ i* ^$ R動詞有不同的時態,我們在形容於不同時間發生的動作時,需要用不同時態的動詞。

4 S* e. Z6 r" o9 {6 `1 y- V+ {. _(1) When the action we are talking about is what we usually do, we use "Simple Present Tense".: t# \' d6 c5 S- v" R. P" \
當我們所形容的動作是我們習慣會做的,我們會用「簡單現在式」。7 o+ s  ?+ Z8 _# _2 o$ F: ]
For example 例如:
3 _6 L& a% Y1 }! O6 l/ hDad always(總是) works until midnight.
: ~9 x0 `) \+ I  O1 g$ IThe twins often(時常) come to school late.4 P0 ]9 Z/ |% R9 j+ ~3 W8 a; W) O3 B

/ Z- W+ H* d0 l4 q% e1 C3 w(2) When we are talking about a truth, we also use "Simple Present Tense".$ G2 G' {! K. o' U3 n3 \0 m+ P# E
形容一個道理或真理時,我們也會用「簡單現在式」。

$ O  Z7 U  [0 R& m; G4 v& H  [& i$ P(3) We need to add "s" or "es" at the end of the verb in "Simple Present Tense" when the subject of the sentence is in "third person singular" form, i.e. he, she, it
# ~! a+ @* u! s( I+ e: N- ]5 Q 如果句子中的主語是第三人稱 (即 he, she, it 等), 當使用「簡單現在式」時,我們要在動詞最尾加上 "s" 或 "es"。2 ?" y9 S) g8 W  K+ }
For example 例如:
- I% Q6 n8 J  ~8 t# h+ i4 o4 qMy sister goes to the library every day.
- F6 `. Q( }( _: y9 _3 SSteven plays basketball well.
  J% e; a% N8 V1 D2 Y; B) {' |; d( G
/ T, `4 A/ t2 @% M0 h(4) We do not need to add "s" or "es" at the end of the verb if the subject is not in "third person singular form", i.e. I, we, you, they.' C2 M# G8 f5 m6 k( F
如果句子中的主詞不是第三人稱 (即 I, we, you, they),我們便不需要在動詞最尾加上 "s" 或 "es"。

I go to school by bus every day.
0 j' k- m+ S2 o/ GPeter often goes to the snack shop when he finishes all classes.
; I- m% j+ G$ L4 @& {Sometimes I read a book before going to bed. 7 N* e5 E3 {& @8 {# |% N$ Y0 U0 [# G
Emily usually gets up at 8 a.m. : s+ m# o% c7 v( r3 v  w
My pen friend writes to me once a month. 6 r2 n  k6 F( O; l# f" m
Note: The underlined words show the actions happen everyday or regularly. $ R6 m) a2 a: |: z6 ?( K# y

(2) For truth 表示真理:9 O* R( s  D4 P5 ?# j; C, _
The Moon goes round the Earth. : B) k1 U; x4 k3 N, g. N
It rains a lot in the summer in Hong Kong.7 @+ n1 X$ o+ T6 k3 h6 q# i: p! z- h

2 U. x  ]5 C- O- A (3) For the third person singular 表示第三人稱:
1 H! ~& ~1 j+ C( GMy grandma often visits us on Sundays.
! q" H5 X$ @! j3 Q: l+ a9 Q, a( P9 UShe goes to school by bus.6 \+ B9 ^0 J: f
It is a sunny day!  J, ]1 Y2 F$ r% N/ l+ ]& z* R

(4) For questions 表示問句:
/ Q! k& D3 A9 e$ zDo you read newspaper every day?
1 Y5 f4 h% [: a2 GDoes he live in Shatin? ; P6 W( j: A; S0 \, R7 P
Is he John? 1 q$ ^0 A2 O( @4 B

+ z) W, c! m2 j& d (5) For negative sentences 表示否定句:
5 F$ L$ |$ x: zI do not drink milk.
# w/ J7 q8 A- ^/ c5 DMy brother does not help with the housework. 8 P. P) E- g9 T/ y/ B( q
Polly and Jimmy are not my friends.
